Tech Savvy Vegetarians launch VegBang …

Tech savvy vegetarians launch VegBang, the first veggie news sharing site, to fight the Digg mafia

VegBang.com, the first vegetarian and vegan news sharing network, was launched today. VegBang is a veggie oriented clone of Digg, and was born as a response to the systematic link rejection suffered by vegetarians in that popular site.

(PRLog.Org) – Dec 20, 2007 – VegBang.com, the first vegetarian and vegan news sharing network, was launched today. VegBang is a veggie oriented clone of Digg, and was born as a response to the systematic link rejection suffered by vegetarians in that popular site.

VegBang started as a way to fight back the Internet gang called the Digg mafia (also known as the bury brigade), who blatantly bans every pro-vegetarianism submission to Digg. Being vegetarianism one of Digg’s taboo topics, a couple of vegans joined together and decided to develop a whole new site to spread the news and links that were not allowed to share over the Digg network. That was VegBang’s kick start. And after one month of succesful Alpha testing, VegBang now reached its Beta status.

Today, with hundreds of registered users and daily links submissions within categories such as Animal Rights, Environment, Events, Health, News and Recipes, VegBang is reaching its main goal: to provide the vegetarian and vegan community with the ultimate social framework for fresh news and substantial links sharing. Vegetarianism is exploding everywhere over the Internet (big media, weblogs, newsletters, forums) and the VegBang team hopes to ignite that vegetarian explosion.
About VegBang:

VegBang is the first social network for people to share the best vegetarian related Internet content. From news to recipes and from health documents to weblog posts, VegBang’s users love to crawl the web and share their latest finds. This value content is auto-regulated by members themselves: anyone who joins the community becomes an editor. VegBang’s social network technology allows all its users to submit an article that will be reviewed by all and will be promoted, based on popularity, to the main page.

For more information about VegBang please visit www.vegbang.com or write to info@vegbang.com

Respect for the System, Not Killing It

“What’s natural and right is to go with the energy of how it all has to work together. What’s natural and right is interconnectedness, not individualism. What is natural and right is respect for the system, not killing the system. What’s natural and right is love.”

Barbarian Ignorance!

“Animal experiments are the product of barbarian ignorance toward animal life by those who arrogantly take the right to submit animals to pain and suffering for their own selfish ends. What these researchers do to the animals they experiment with is more barbaric than any of the past cavemean behavior. The cavemen in primitive time had more compassion for animals than our present-day scientists have.

Humans will not find proper solutions to human problems as long as they are cruel and insensitive to other forms of life, including the animals.”

Quotation’s from the Book “Angelo’s Message”Aurelia Louise Jones

Note from Rebecca . . . Either you are part of the solution or you are part of the problem - Undoubtedly this may come as a surprise to most of humanity who falsely and ignorantly assume that they are not contributing to such cruelty and torture of the animal kingdom – but the fact remains if you are a tax payer you are to some degree supporting such torture as many grants are given to scientists by governments to keep up such barbaric behavior behind closed doors.

But let’s not forget about all the goods uneducated humans purchase on a daily basis that have also contributed to animal experimentation. Simply buying simple things like medicines, cosmetics and many other household goods you are contributing to the cruel torture of animals.

It’s time for Humanity to face Reality and support cruelty-freedom this Christmas. Please be consciously aware of the decisions you make as a consumer and only buy Cruelty-Free, NOT-Tested on Animals items to place under your Christmas tree this year.

Carrot Juice – Great for Detoxing

Carrot juice is one of the richest sources of vitamin A and other vitamins, especially B complex. Its mineral content is equally rich, and includes calcium, copper, magnesium, potassium, sodium, phosphorus, chlorine, sulpher and iron.

So it makes sense that carrot juice is a great energizing detox juice, being full of beta-carotene, calcium and vitamin c you can’t go wrong with this Super Juice in your healthy living diet. I highly recommend it for a refreshing and healthy alternative.

Tyr this recipe out for yourself:

  • 3 carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 orange
  • 1 stick celery
  • 1/2 inch ginger root

Juice together and enjoy!

Vitamin B12 Deficiency—the Meat-eaters’ Last Stand

Defending eating habits seems to be a primal instinct for people.  These days Westerners are running out of excuses for their gluttony.  Well-read people no longer believe meat is necessary to meet our protein needs or that milk is the favored source of calcium.  With the crumbling of these two time-honored battle fronts the vitamin B12 issue has become the trendy topic whenever a strict vegetarian (vegan) diet is discussed.  Since the usual dietary source of vitamin B12 for omnivores is the flesh of other animals, the obvious conclusion is that those who choose to avoid eating meat are destined to become B12 deficient. There is a grain of truth in this concern, but in reality an otherwise healthy strict vegetarian’s risk of developing a disease from B12 deficiency by following a sensible diet is extremely rare—less than one chance in a million.
