Here’s a couple of quick pointers on some of the missing links in meat.
None of these pointers are nice to think about (luckily for those of us that are vegan we don’t have to worry about any of the above problems as we don’t consume animals), but we live in a meat-eating world afterall so it’s nice to remind those around us every now and then what they are putting into their own bodies by consuming animal by-products.

Well we’ve all heard that one before (in fact maybe even a gazillion times) … okay maybe that’s a little exaggeration but it would have to be close right? I’ve heard the protein and all the other myths roaming around this non-vegan world for years. But how do you get it through to the so called ‘meat-heads’ that living vegan or vegetarian does not mean you are lacking in nutrition? Well that’s where my friend Barry comes in . . .
Vegan Fitness Guru, Barry Lovelace FINALLY put together a down to earth, simple ebook that ANYONE can understand. Barry grew up in eastern Pennsylvania where ‘meat & dairy’ are considered the ONLY way to eat and ‘get big’. And, after nearly 9 years as a vegan Barry knows for a fact that meat & dairy are not a necessity for vitality, strength and all round good health. In fact Barry holds several certifications in personal training, owns his own gym and is an all round fitness nut. So he’s the perfect candidate to listen to when wanting to understand how nutrition and fitness come together or to ask suggestions on how to combat those nasty veg rumors out there. So to find out more don’t forget to check out Barry’s site here:

Check out my first attempt on making a FULLY vegan raw chocolate and strawberry pie.
It was a hit with friends and family – but I’m still tweaking the recipe a little so will have to post that one at a later date, sorry folks. I’ve made alot of raw vegan pies previously, but when it comes to the chocolate ones I always seem to add in a little extra non-raw ingredients. I guess that’s what happens when you love your chocolate a little too much!

Your own values and ethics are your personal rules of conduct, not someone else’s rules, they are your own rules and beliefs – it’s that simple. So how you operate throughout your life will without a doubt come back to where your values and ethics are directed and situated. Here’s an unfortunate point: many of us go through our lives operating on someone else’s value systems and/or playing by others (or society’s) rules. As sad as that can be it’s really that simple.
So it might be wise to always remember this… ‘if you follow the crowd you’ll step in shit’
Make sure you guard yourself and your vegan values constantly and be true to your own ethics – not someone elses.
As vegans often chat about, it can on occasions be a challenge when you come up against a world full of meat-heads who stand by poor and unethical treatment with VERY negative side affects. So in those cases, don’t get mad, get even by stepping up and beyond their limited (and controlled) thinking and negatives. Handling the situation from a higher point of view will automatically point you in the right direction and a positive mind-frame plus it will get your point across much more successfully than with confrontation. Remember the saying “actions speak louder than words”?
There’s alot to be said for such wisdom.
Gandhi put it powerfully this way: “Be the Change you want to see in the World”
So stick to your vegan values no matter what my friends – as living a vegan lifestyle ROCKS!
